NEW PUBLIC DIVE SITE.

Black Hawk County Conservation Board has opened the Turkey Ridge Wildlife Area (previously known as “Yokums Quarry” near Finchford) to the public for scuba diving. This rock quarry will be the first public access facility for scuba diving in Black Hawk Co. This new dive site will be under development with guidance from Turkey Ridge Dive Site Management Team. The county has mandated that the gate is to be lock at all times, so “Scuba Too” has been chosen to verify diver certification and issue access guidelines along with the gate lock combination.

This is a big opportunityfor the residents of the Cedar Valley. All certified divers are welcome to dive open water close to home.

More info can be found at this site that is under development.  http://www.turkeyridgedivesite.com/

Stay tuned for more updates.

AQUA CAT

We still have space on the Aqua Cat cruise on Oct. 2-9 2010

This is looking to be a fantastic trip –   lots of photo work and video.  I will be spending lots of time on the bottom doing MACRO. This is the time and place to practice, right below the boat.

Check out their web site!     http://www.aquacatcruises.com/

If you ever thought about trying a livaboard, this would be the trip!

Cozumel 11 Mar 10

I just got out of the water with Ray and Chale. Even though the water was 80 it felt cold. Lucky for us the wind was out of the south so the ride back to the Hotel Cozumel & Resorts was calm and the sun was warm. We dove San Fransisco and Yucab saw sharks and turtles and a few other divers ’cause the strong wind kept everyone away from the reefs Palencar and Columbia.

Yesterday I found a Sealife digital camera on the bottom and it still worked. The photos were dated 20 Feb 10. Lucky me.
